Summer Concerts on The Village Green are a sign that life may be returning to (almost) normal in the age of COVID. Showtimes start at 6 p.m. and are free to the public – although donations are appreciated. (www.OrcasCenter.org/donate)

Kicking off the joint adventure between Orcas Center and Doe Bay is Bobby Bare Jr. with Lilo Sanchez.

With a big-as-the-room persona, an ability to rock the doors of the most jaded of clubs, the heart to hold a room completely still with just his guitar, and a genius for arrangement, Bobby Bare, Jr. is one of the most unique performers around.

Opening for Bobby Bare Jr. is Orcas-based/Panamanian artist and producer Lilo Sanchez, whose musical career spans more than 20 years is best known for his work with the celebrated Panamanian band, Señor Loop.

Saturday, June 19

Saturday’s show stars 3WU, a musical collective with roots in Islam, features some of the region’s most talented artists and performers, and primarily focuses on all-vocal production, what some fans call “A Capella 2.0.”

Opening for 3WU is Orcas Islander Dustin Fox, whose music is influenced by the elements of Hip Hop with lyrics that are poetic in nature. For this performance, Dustin will be in collaboration with Zach O’Brien who goes by the name, Dj Teachers Pet. Both have been integral members of the Hip Hop community on Orcas Island.

Seating for all concerts will be on a first-come/first-serve basis for groups up to six, and there will be designated “pods” to abide by county guidelines for social distancing. Due to the ever-changing COVID regulations, make sure you check www.OrcasCenter.org for any updates before heading to the venue.
