Lancaster for council | Letter

It is tough supporting a candidate for the upcoming election when that support appears that his or her opponent is not of the right stuff. That is not the issue for me, but rather a long association, albeit sometimes a contentious one, with Scott Lancaster.
We have often differed on policies, but in the end we both come away better informed. There are not many people who have delved into the community as Scott has. He is a long-time member of Kiwanis, a successful manager of a local business, now an owner of one, and has put in years of dedication and hard work as a member of the school board. When Scott takes on a task, he gives it full measure.
His ideas that he will bring to the council are refreshing and exactly what is needed to stop kicking the cans down the road. Yes, Scott is controversial to many, but that’s exactly the kind of leadership that is necessary. You have to be involved to lead. He and Patty Miller will forge policies that will enhance good governance and quell the frustration that many now have with the Council.
