Orcas team wins futsol tournament

The spring 2025 futsal tournament featured teams from Orcas and Lopez on March 30. Lopez brought three teams — two adult teams and one high school team — to face off against Orcas Island’s two adult teams and one high school team.

The tournament was hosted by Orcas Island Park and Rec and used both school gyms. It was a 6 versus 6 round-robin tournament where each team played five 20-minute games.

Cheeseland FC took first place in a close tournament, ending with 10 points. Orcas Island FC got second, and there was a three-way tie for third.

“It was an amazing day and we look forward to playing with Lopez again this summer in an 11v11 outdoor fundraiser exhibition match for the new Orcas Island Football Club,” say organizers.
