In a spirited game on a dodgy late fall day, the Lobos succumbed to their opponent 30-42. Wind and interceptions accounted for several of the turnarounds in the momentum of the game, but overall the Lobos fought hard and kept their focus on the ball.

In the first quarter, Tommy Kramer scored early on with a four yard run into the end zone, but the Lobos did not make good on the two point conversion. The Loggers answered with two touchdowns of their own and the score in the second quarter was 15-6 in favor of Crescent City. In the third quarter, Shawn Samuel had a sweet break-away 35 yard run that ended in a scoring drive for the Lobos and was followed up immediately with a two point conversion run by Kramer. Kramer then caught an arrow-like pass from Colton Jardine and flew 65 yards down the field for another score. Alex Buffum caught the pass in the end zone that got the Lobos another 2 points, but the Loggers were hot on the Lobos’ trail and scored again.

“The wind really hampered us,” said Coach Larry Berg. “We threw a few interceptions, and once on a punt return we lost some momentum when the ball went awry off of a player’s chest. But the players dug in and fought hard for lost ground.” In the fourth quarter, Samuels had a nine yard touch down run and ran in the two point conversion as well, but the ending score was 30-42, Loggers’ favor.

Thursday, Nov. 6, the Lobos go up against Lummi near Ferndale, Washington for their last game of the season.
