Clarification to ferry story | Letter

Published 2:38 pm Wednesday, February 4, 2015

I am writing in response to your Jan. 7 article entitled, “New protocol for drivers at Orcas landing.”

I want to clarify that customers who find it detrimental to their health to wait in line will continue to have preferential loading. However, it would be helpful for those passengers who know ahead of time about a medical reason to expedite their trip to make a reservation in advance. This helps our terminal staff plan for the expected volume of traffic. Please note, if passengers are traveling with both a reservation and preferential loading, we advise them to inform the terminal attendant. Terminal staff will then stage their vehicle with the other medical preferential vehicles.
