The holidays are a wonderful time for connection and celebration, but they can often leave us with a financial hangover once the decorations come down. If you’re feeling the weight of holiday spending or struggling to manage debt, the Resource Center is here to help you reset and regain control. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, Jan. 27, for two special opportunities.

Daytime Drop-In: Your New Year Money Plan

10 a.m. to 4 p.m., The Orcas Community Resource Center

No appointment necessary. Drop in and meet with your local Resource Center financial counselors. Our financial literacy team, Elisabeth Britt and Nick Johns, will be available all day to help you navigate post-holiday money woes.

Evening Workshop: Strategies for Managing Debt

5:30-7 p.m., The Orcas Community Resource Center, with instructor Richard Pearson

Come by later and join local expert Richard Pearson as we dig into personalized strategies for tackling debt — from student loans to holiday overspending. There will be delicious snacks and drinks! In this interactive session, you will:

• Participate in our Spending Detox and get support to start your year fresh.

• Work through a mock January budget to identify “quick wins.”

• Learn and share strategies to reinforce your spending and saving skills.

Whether you’re looking for a quick check-in or a deep dive into debt and spending, we look forward to seeing you there!
