Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light and Shana Cleveland in free summer concert

Submitted by the Orcas Center.

Orcas Center is thrilled to present another free summer concert featuring Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light and Shana Cleveland on Sunday, Aug. 3 at 5 p.m. on the Village Green. This free event is part of the Summer Concert Series event presented by Orcas Center, Doe Bay Resort, GiveOrcas/Orcas Island Community Foundation and San Juan County, as well as many business and individual donors!

Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light

Fresh off their victory at the 2023 Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival, the Boston-based trio brings a fresh, lyric-driven take on Americana, blending sweet melodies with biting chords. Singer–songwriter Rachel Sumner, joined by Kat Wallace (fiddle) and Mike Siegel (upright bass), dazzles with storytelling songwriting (including award-winning “Radium Girls (Curie Eleison)”), traditional arrangements and intimate live dynamics

Shana Cleveland

Northern California’s Shana Cleveland returns solo after a decade touring with her band La Luz. With eight albums on Sub Pop and Hardly Art, including her acclaimed solo record Manzanita — dubbed “a perfectly woven tapestry of musical delights” by The Guardian — Cleveland delivers textured, nature-infused songwriting rooted in folk and rock traditions.

Don’t miss this fun in the summer sun! Another great free concert thanks to donations from local supporters and businesses!
