Engineer honor

Dana Pomeroy Speece, daughter of Wes and Pat Pomeroy of Eastsound, was named “Quality Engineer of the Year” by the American Society for Quality, San Fernando Valley section this past February.

Raised on Orcas, Speece graduated from Orcas Island High School in 1972. In 1983, she graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in ceramic engineering. Speece has been employed for 35 years with The Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles. She is in charge of corporate quality.
