Orcas Island Film Festival will offer an encore screening of the buzz-worthy film “Puzzle” on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Sea View Theatre.
Orcas Island film festival 2018 was another huge success and OIFF directors reported a sharp increase in attendance. Many screenings were full or sold out.
One of the most popular films of the festival was director Marc Turtletaub’s “Puzzle,” about a suburban housewife who discovers an unexpected talent for solving jigsaw puzzles, leading her to partner with a competitive puzzle champion and unlock passions she had never before imagined.
Turtletaub, a part-time Islander, introduced the film and hosted a fascinating post-screening Q & A. The audience was not disappointed and many said it was their favorite film of the festival.
“This was our only screening that we had to turn people away,” said OIFF co-director Donna Laslo.
As a gesture of goodwill and a thank you to local supporters, OIFF will present a repeat screening of the film. In addition, the young filmmakers who participated in the youth filmmakers workshop will be able to see their film on the big screen before the feature presentation.
Regular film prices will apply but volunteer tickets and sponsor passes will be honored. To purchase tickets, visit https://www.orcasfilmfest.com/.
