Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of the San Juan Islands is in awe of our amazing Orcas Island community for the overwhelming support for our first annual “Beautiful You Fashion Show” this last Sunday, May 17. We were thrilled to have over 70 men, women and children in attendance.
We would like to thank April and Clyde Duke and Bill Patterson for sharing the beautiful Random Howse. We couldn’t have asked for a more elegant location to host our event. The flower bouquets donated by Cindy Morgan of The Nest added to the ambiance and delicious food catered by Angela Emery and Brad Siep along with the wonderful baked goods donated by Jami Plummer made this a decedent experience to be remembered.
Also, thank you to Rosario Resort for donating the spa service package for our raffle. What a wonderful self-care gift! And many thanks to photographer Cali Bagby who helped us capture the enchanted event with many lovely pictures. Visit www.dvsassanjuans.org to relive the magic with us!
Of course we also wanted to extend a big thank you to each of the retail stores who so generously gave of their time and expertise to help make the day such a success!
Tres Fabu, Cherry T’s, Siren’s Boutique, Sequel, Springboard, Monkey Puzzle and all of our beautiful models – you all helped us celebrate the beauty and diversity in every woman, man and child! We couldn’t have done it without all of you!
Your support will extend the healing and prevention work we do here on Orcas Island. Because we all believe that everyone deserves to live free of abuse.
We would also like to thank the Orcas Island Community Foundation and all of the generous donors who made our grant request a reality. The amazing and generous support of this community makes the life-changing work we do possible.
Not only will we be able to continue with the crisis intervention work, supporting advocacy and direct client services, we will now be able to greatly broaden the prevention and education work we do within our Orcas community.
Thank you on behalf of our Board of Directors and staff.
