Requiem & Renewal

“Requiem & Renewal: Poetry and music to express, grieve, and usher us through our pain for the world” will be on Saturday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at Emmanuel Parish Hall, 218 Main St., Eastsound.
Presented by Peace in the Neighborhood (Jeffry, Monica, Sharon, Michael, Luann and Antoinette) with featured speaker Althea W. of the Lummi tribe. Part of the Orcas Island Earth Day Celebration. Poems by Jess Semaan, Aurora Levins Morales, April Tierney, Lynn Pattison, Michelle Bitting, Warsan Shire, Asmaa Dwaima, Francis Weller and Lena Khalaf Tuffaha. Music by Peter Yarrow, Yosef Hadar, Bruce Cockburn, J. S. Bach and others. Donations divided between Lummi canoe journey and Palestinian relief efforts.
