Carsen Sprenger, director of Rain Shadow Consulting, donated two days of his time and expertise to our K-5 Farm to classroom students.
At an estimated 115 years old, our beloved maple tree has been showing signs of stress. Sprenger taught us how we can support the health of our tree as it ages. We learned about the importance of the fine roots. We spread woodchips around the base of the tree to provide nutrients and to lessen the impact of footsteps on the import fine roots. Watch our progress as we do more to protect our special big leaf maple.
Thank you, Sprenger, for empowering our students with knowledge and skills.
