More than 60 island businesses support the historical society’s silent auction

Visit the free festivities on the Village Green on Saturday, Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and bid on gift certificates and items of interest such as a bed warmer from France. Or perhaps you would go for a more practical gift (but then who says bed warmers are not practical?) such as an hour computer tech support, landscape consultation, or horseback riding lessons. How about a Growlette with one-year of monthly refills or do you prefer special label wines?
There is a range of food choices from ice cream sundaes to full dinners at local restaurants. Stay at a bed and breakfast, go kayaking, sailing, or fishing or get two nights free mooring for your own boat. Bid on a 170-piece professional tool kit, an orchid or flower arrangement, or one of the many gift baskets. Be the highest bidder for an oil change, a haircut, or a gym membership. One of the largest offerings is from Orcas Events: a tent for 80, tables, chairs and lights for that special occasion.
There will be something for everyone and all proceeds go to support the Orcas Island Historical Museums mission to: educate, inspire, connect and involve our community and visitors in the stewardship of the unique island history. There is no charge to come, browse and explore.
