Kids’ soccer a success | Letter

I would like to thank the young soccer players who attended the 6-week spring soccer camp put on by the Funhouse-Commons and Orcas Park and Rec. The six-week program met two days a week and concluded with a World Cup game series highlighted with the improved skills of all players. Sports of all kinds are necessary for the development of eye hand coordination, cognitive skills, social behavior and physical strength.
I am grateful to have been able to coach with Monty Coffey and Paul Groeninger and thank the parents of the 24 kids ranging from eight years to 15 years for letting their children participate in this new soccer program. I would especially like to thank Michael, Wylie, Zack, Henri, Enzo and Keith. These guys were true gentlemen working with the younger players and are ambassadors of Orcas youth soccer.
