Orcas Elementary cleans up island on Earth Day

Orcas Island Elementary School observed Earth Day on Friday, April 27. All classrooms, K-6, chose an area to clean up.

Some of the areas were, Crescent Beach, Madrona Street, Main Street, Prune Aly, the library, Eastsound Waterfront Park, Buck Park, and the school campus.

A remarkable amount of garbage/litter was picked up by the students on Friday. Some classes also put in time weeding and beautifying different areas of the school campus.

“It was an awesome day and the kids are very proud of the work that they did,” Orcas school teacher Mandy Randolph said.
