Rowing club to host annual regatta and the CrewFeast Dinner

Orcas Island Rowing Club’s “snowed-out, rescheduled” annual events are Saturday, April 7, starting with the Alumni Regatta, 10 a.m. at Cascade Lake and the CrewFeast Dinner at Orcas Center, 5:30 p.m.

The regatta is  open to all rowers, but celebrates alumni of the OIR  program. Races start at 10 a.m. and are 1,000 meter sprints from the north end of Cascade Lake south to the finish line at the boathouse.

The CrewFeast Dinner is the primary fundraiser for the club, which needs about $5,000 more than they collect in fees to keep the program running, not counting major equipment needs. A no host bar opens at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. with entertainment by Bridget O’Toole and Haley Thompson.
