Heavy ferry traffic expected Thanksgiving weekend

Washington State Ferries has issued the following alert:

Please plan ahead for heavy ferry traffic Thanksgiving weekend. The longest lines are expected westbound Wednesday afternoon and evening, Nov. 23, and eastbound Friday morning, Nov. 25.

The Anacortes/San Juan Islands route will be on its regular weekday schedule on Thursday, Nov. 24. On Wednesday, Nov. 23, the 144-car Yakima will make an extra trip to Friday Harbor departing from Anacortes at 1:30 p.m.
