Youth mentors needed for Lopez Family Resource Center

Published 11:43 am Wednesday, October 26, 2011

The Lopez Island Family Resource Center’s Mentor Program is looking for mentor volunteers.

The Mentor Program matches youth with adult mentors in order to create a mutually beneficial bond that can last anywhere from six months to several years. Ongoing training and support is provided for mentors, and the program holds gatherings and annual celebrations for members of the program.

Mentors usually spend time with their mentees on a weekly basis for two to three hours. For more information or to become a mentor, or if you think your child would benefit from a mentor, please contact Mikah at (360) 468-2201 ext. 2109 or by email at msmith@lopez.k12.wa.us, or contact Rachel at (360) 468-4117 or by e-mail at remacsla@uvic.ca.
