Senior class of 2012 paints “the barn”

Last week the senior class of 2012 lavished their attention on the Orcas Road barn traditionally painted each year by Orcas High School seniors.

The ancient building will step fashionably into fall, graced with a fresh coat of paint donated by Scott Lancaster, school board member and owner of Eastsound’s ACE Hardware store.

This year’s theme incorporates a ferry gliding across a shimmering blue sea toward mounded green islands, while the barn roof sports a mandala-like symbol surrounded by splashes of color reminiscent of tie-dye.
