To know John Barnes is to know a man who’d give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. And it would come with a smile and a hug.
John is truly one of our community’s warmest and most generous members and sadly, recent serious medical setbacks have now made John the one in need.
Please attend a fun-filled night of music and fundraising on Monday, July 25 at The Lower Tavern. Owner Jim Passer has eagerly opened his doors and musicians, including local favorite Bruce Harvie, have generously pledged all cover charges to John’s recovery. The music starts at 6 p.m. The suggested cover charge is $10.
If you cannot make it, please drop off or mail whatever you are capable of giving to Islanders Bank, Attention John Barnes Fund, P.O. Box 699, Eastsound, WA 98245-0699, at your earliest convenience. John’s hospital bills are steadily mounting.
Whether you know John or not, Orcas Islanders pull together for a good cause and helping our good friend and neighbor in his time of need is among the worthiest.
