John Baker, who is known for his involvement with community theatre and his stunning pen and ink drawings, has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver, stomach lining, colon, and lungs.

Baker, who works at Ace Hardware, is being treated at Swedish Medical Center. His doctors have not found a source of the cancer, and he is unable to undergo treatment until that is determined. Baker is the father of two grown sons. His artwork can currently be seen at Jillery in Eastsound.

A fund has been set up at Key Bank under the name “John Baker.” The community can also donate funds at the front counter of Ace Hardware.
