Island Cup this Saturday | Lopez players join Orcas for football season

When the coaches of the football teams for both Orcas and Lopez counted heads this summer they came to a very troubling conclusion - "We don't have enough guys!"

Local duo finish huge swim

Orcas residents Kathryn Aspinall, age 11, and Ray Clever, age 70, had promised supporters to swim at least 10 miles to support relief efforts for Langtang Village in Nepal

Sandlot softball team is state champion

Sandlot has been playing tournaments every summer in Mt. Vernon and Ferndale for the past 10 years. This year’s team consists of Josh Claypool, Bobby Curtis, Joe Duenn, Cole Franklin, John Hamel, Reggie Harris, Mayson, Danny McAndrew, Jacob Myers, Tyler Nigretto, Tommy O’Rourke, James Segault and Josh Underdahl.

Youth regatta a success

The first annual Ray Jarecki Youth Regatta was sailed on the waters of West Sound July 25 and 25 and it was a huge success.

V-ball tournament

Join the competition at the 2015 Summer Spike Volleyball Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 16. The four-person coed teams will play on the grass starting at 10 a.m. in Buck Park.
