I’m excited to let everyone know that singer-songwriter-guitarist extraordinaire James Lee Stanley will be back on Orcas doing a concert on Sunday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Emmanuel Parish Hall.

I met James in 1995 when we both played at a folk music festival in New Jersey. I was blown away by his musicianship. James makes a six-string acoustic guitar sound like an orchestra. In addition to being a consummate musician and talented songwriter, James has an unusually entertaining rapport with his audiences.

We became friends. James produced a CD for Mike Hurwicz and me, and we’ve been lucky enough to have him come and play on Orcas a few times.
