Dan Kenney, longtime Orcas Island resident, died peacefully on May 4, 2012 at the Islands Convalescent Center in Friday Harbor, where he had been living since December 2011.

He was a carpenter, poet, writer and painter, as well as a great lover of dogs and cats.

He is survived by granddaughter Erin Kenney and her children, Isaac and Maia, granddaughter Amanda, and sisters Mary Eileen Kenney and Anne Marie Kenney.
