Orcas animal shelter brings in three mainland dogs

"We’re already crazy about all three," said APS director Marsha Waunch.

Three dogs arrived at the Orcas Animal Shelter on March 6 from a mainland shelter.

“We’re already crazy about all three,” said APS director Marsha Waunch.

Dahlia is a high energy, beautiful girl who may be a mix of Boxer and Vizsla.  She gets along well with kids and needs a home where she will receive plenty of exercise.  Waunch says they plan on enrolling her in a class to improve her manners.

Mika is a sweet Black Lab mix.  She is about 4 1/2, knows a few commands and seems to love everyone.

Athena is a bit on the shy side but it doesn’t take much to encourage her to snuggle up to you. She is a very sweet and small pit bull terrier with maybe something else in the mix.

“She’ll look at you with soulful eyes and you’ll melt,” Waunch said.

The shelter is located on Hope Lane. It is open seven days a week from 2 to 5 p.m. Call 376-6777 or visit www.orcaspets.org for more information.
