King 5 reporter Rob Piercy made a visit to Orcas Island on Sept. 22 to interview local business owners who have experienced damage wrought by the “Barefoot Bandit.”

Piercy told the Sounder he has been covering suspect Colton Harris-Moore, 18, for some time in connection with incidents on the mainland. Harris-Moore was convicted in June 2007 of three counts of residential burglary and was given three years confinement. He escaped from a group home in Renton on April 30, 2008 when he was still a juvenile.
