On June 10, Chama Anderson, known on island as an inspirational soccer coach, left California on her journey north and planned to drive to Alaska, which was her next adventure. She fell asleep at the wheel and was involved in a serious car accident. She was found by the Oregon State Police four miles over the border from California at the Siskiyou Summit. She was taken by helicopter to the hospital in Medford and once stable enough was air lifted to a Level I Trauma Center in Portland called OHSU.
Anderson has made it through several surgeries and is now beginning rehab. A youcaring.com site has been set-up as the portal to accept donations to assist Anderson with medical expenses and provide the extra team effort needed to make this effort successful.
