Certified erosion and sediment control class

Skagit Valley College has developed a three-day, intensive erosion and sediment control instruction and practicum program that will provide students with the required 18 hours necessary to become a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL).

Certain types of construction projects, including the Construction Stormwater General Permit, now require that site inspections be conducted by a CESCL.

The class will be at the San Juan Center and will meet on Friday, April 24 from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The class will be led by Dr. Claus Svendsen, Chair of the Department of Environmental Conservation and upon successful completion of this course participants will be a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead recognized by Washington State Department of Ecology and satisfying this department’s training course requirements.
