We mournfully announce the passing of Benjamin Allen Spaulding, 46, known to many as Ember. Ben joined his spirit with the universe on the morning of April 4th, leaving his incredible children Sebastian, Serafina, and Emmanuel “Manny.”

Ben, born to Carol Spaulding and Thomas Creech, on June 30th, 1975 in Carson City, NV was close with his siblings Ginger, Eli, and Serena(Gloria). Ben was proudly called Uncle Ben and often joked about Uncle Ben’s rice, which he cooked for his nieces and nephews, Ridley, Malick, and Devan.

Ben’s biggest passion in life was music. He could pick up an instrument from his coveted harp to his handmade drum and make them weave a beautiful story of music. His melodic voice has changed the lives of countless listeners around the world.

When Ben wasn’t making music he could be found making instruments, gathering with kindred spirits, and caring for horses. Services are being planned for Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m. at Orcas Island Seventh-day Adventist Church (107 Enchanted Forest Rd, Eastsound, WA 98245). Please join us as we honor the love that Ben shared with so many.
