TED talks come to Orcas Center

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are collectively shaping our world. TED Conferences bring together a group of industry leaders and impactful people for unique experiences dedicated to TED’s global mission of sharing meaningful new ideas. This year, Orcas Center, under the direction of Phil Klein, brings TED2023: Possibility to Center Stage on Sunday, May 7 starting at 4 p.m.

This event will show selected talks recorded at TED2023, held in Vancouver, Canada this past April. The selected speakers include: Angus Hervey – Good-News Reporter via Future Crunch; Hannah Ritchie – Environmental Data Scientist research leader at Our World in Data; Sal Khan — Education Innovator founder and CEO of Khan Academy, Jessie Reyez – Multi-platinum Candian-Columbian Singer/Songwriter and recording artist; Becky Kennedy – Parenting Whisperer and creator of “Good Inside”, Ersin Han Ersin — Artist with the art collective: Marshmallow Laser Feast; and Sheryl Lee Ralph — Emmy-Winning Actor from Abbot Elementary.
