Rock of Orcas — musical extravaganza — at Orcas Center

Opening on May 11, Orcas Center will feature Rock of Orcas, a concert celebrating the 4rth Annual Benefit Performance for Orcas Center. Rock of Orcas unites the creative team of Grace McCune and Jake Perrine directing an all-island cast on Center Stage. Bring the whole family for an unforgettable night of theatre. Rock of Orcas will run for six performances, May 11-13 and 18-20, 7:30 p.m. at Orcas Center.

Get your bangles and bandannas on. The dynamic duo McCune and Perrine (who brought you Moulin Rouge and Across the Universe) will serve up Orcas Center’s next musical fundraiser extravaganza: Rock of Orcas performing May 11-13 and 18-20, 2017. This show will dive headlong and pell-mell into grandiose 80s rock! Like the hairstyles of the era, we will “go big” where the cringe-worthy fear to tread! Journey? Foreigner? Queen? Whitesnake? Of course! And that’s just the appetizer. Come see a massive local cast including three choirs, three dance classes, and two live bands! As always, proceeds benefit Orcas Center. Dive into your wardrobes and wear your 80s rock finest to every performance to win a prize! Orcas Center invites cast, crew and public to a special opening reception in the Madrona Room following the show on May 11. Get your tickets now – this not-to-be-missed performance will sell out!

On Saturday, May 13 there will be a limited number of dinner and a show tickets available for $60. The New Leaf Café is hosting the exclusive dinner for Rock of Orcas at 5 p.m. on May 13 only. Chef Steve Debaste has created a special menu featuring seasonal local cuisine for the dinner which will take place in the Outlook Inn’s Victorian Room. The menu will feature local greens with a white balsamic vinaigrette, seared cauliflower, roasted tomatoes, kalamata olives, goat cheese, lemon olive oil, sea salt and Baluga lentils, asparagus with a tarragon vinaigrette and Mad Hatcher Roasted Chicken French Style accompanied by roasted red potatoes followed by blueberry shortcake desert.
