Orcas Historical Museum to raffle off Nissan Leaf

Following the success of 2021 summer’s raffle of an all-electric car, the Orcas Island Historical Museums are once again offering a choice, gently used Nissan Leaf. The raffle raises funds that the museum will use to support educational projects here on Orcas Island.

The car has a cruise range of 70 to 85 miles before needing to be recharged. It can be recharged overnight from a household electrical outlet, or in less than an hour in one of the many recharging stations popping up like mushrooms here on Orcas Island (and elsewhere). Its nearly silent operating system allows you to really enjoy the Bose sound system as you drive on island roads.

And even if you don’t win, you’re contributing to the success and preservation of island history. How can you lose?

Electric cars also make excellent gifts for young folks in need of a car (and anyone else for that matter) or can be used to broker high-end trade-ins for the car of your dreams. Or why not donate the car to www.islandrides.org.

Purchase tickets by August 12th. State raffle rules prevent online sales. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the museum or at other community events listed below. The drawing will be held at 2:00 pm on August 12. You need not be present to win.
