It’s time for ‘Music in the Park’

San Juan County Parks Department continues its Music In the Park summer series in the Stage on the Green in Eastsound.

On Sunday, July 18 the swing band Orcatrazz will play a free concert from 6 to 7 p.m.

Bring your chairs and blankets and your dancing shoes and enjoy the sounds of this 16-piece band that specializes in the music of the big band era.

Orcatrazz members have varied experiences ranging from amateur to professional including students, teachers and studio musicians.

Band leader Ken Speck has performed and traveled with his own band for a number of years. Orcatrazz members include Bob Littlewood on clarinet; Sam Windsor, Tom Slater, Ginny Soderlund, Kailey Grantham, and Judy Whiting on saxophones; Karen Key Speck, Bruce Heller and Joe Boucher on trombones; Pat Muffett, Dave Durand, and Russ Harvey on trumpets; and rhythm section with Ron Meyers at the piano, Lizz Hanks on bass, Chris Waage guitar, and Randy Jezeirski on the drum set, and vocals by Beth Baker.
