Taarka, a virtuosic ensemble of violin, mandolin, cello, upright bass, and vocals, will perform on Orcas and Lopez.

On Friday, April 30, the band will play at Woodmen Hall on Lopez at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 1, Taarka is coming to Oddfellows Hall on Orcas for an 8 p.m. concert. Tickets for both events are $10 at the door.

Taarka is Colorado band that features high energy, innovative compositions, weaving the sounds of old and new from world folk, celtic, bluegrass, jazz, and classical. According to the group’s website, they are a “virtuosic cadre of performers who have roamed the freeways and backroads of the new and old acoustic caravan trail in search of a revolutionary ancient sound for modern times.”
