Thank you for keeping an island tradition | Letter

I wanted to write and tell everyone about something that makes our family very happy.

First of all, for years our family has enjoyed looking at Tompkins’ barn on Crow Valley Road and seeing the holiday lights. Our children and their children are delighted when the lights are turned on for the season; so are GeeGee and PaPa.

I was happy to see the new owners have continued the Don Tompkins’ tradition. I am sure there are many islanders enjoying the lights now.

In these troubling times it’s healing to see holiday lights; also to look out in the fields and see the new baby lambs and calves romping in the fields.

My prayers are with you all and I truly believe we will be brought through this. The Lord will give us strength and we will be stronger.
