Orcas Lion’s Club saved local man’s eyesight

Array

In this modern age of medical miracles, I experienced acts of compassion from folks dedicated to helping others in our community. I could no longer deny that the on-going deterioration of my eyesight was leading to blindness, as is the case with many diabetics. This reality was somewhat disconcerting, as my quality of life was slipping away.

Dr. Chris White gave the sad news, but made a suggestion that I contact the Lion’s Club to see what they could do for me. I found out that was really good news. There was a program to provide for lenses replacements (both eyes) that paid for everything and even new glasses, too!

I was approved promptly and was soon off for a series of visits to the Harmon Clinic in Arlington. Not only that, but Pat Muffett took the time, effort and energy to fly me back and forth in his airplane. What a blessing! Now I have been implanted with a matching a set of eyes. I want to praise Jesus Christ because I once was blind, but now I see.

Please help support the Lion’s Club fundraisers like the Salmon BBQ on the 4th of July and the tent rental program, too, so others can experience their wonderful community services. Thanks Lion’s Club and all!
