Spring has finally arrived! It was a beautiful day to play golf as inter-island neighbors Orcas and Lopez met at the Orcas Island Golf Club Tuesday, April 1.
The Lady Vikings got off to a slow start but then blew the game open wide to take a 13-2 win at Concrete on Tuesday, April 1.

In the closest golf match of the season, the Orcas Vikings boys’ and girls’ teams pulled out wins at the league match held at the Similk Golf course in Anacortes on Monday, April 14.
“Our hard work this season is beginning to pay off,” said Lopez golf coach Richard Têtu. “A number of our players have made real breakthroughs in the past couple of matches.”

The Orcas Island Fire District Commissioners wil hold a special meeting for Strategic Plan review on April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Eastsound Fire Hall.
The Actors Theater of Orcas Island announces the third annual festival of short plays written by local playwrights. This year, the festival has a great range of plays by both first-time writers and writers from the first two festivals. As usual, the presenters will be a collection of the best actors on Orcas as well as several novice actors. The 2008 Playfest also features six directors, and is another showcase of experienced and new talents.
Tickets are still available for all performances of “Beauty and the Beast” on its last weekend at Orcas Center.
