Senator Ranker to visit Orcas for hot issues and hot dogs

State Senator Kevin Ranker will be at the corner of Main Street and North Beach Rd. on Orcas Island to talk to the community on Sunday, Sept. 11 from noon to 2 p.m.There will be free hot dogs from Lopez’s Ye Scurvy Dogs as well.

“Talk about the issues, find out what’s up in the next Legislative session, or just come and enjoya great hot dog,” say organizers.

Ranker currently serves as a Washington State Senator representing the 40th Legislative District. In the Senate he serves as Majority Assistant Whip, Chair of the Natural Resources and Marine Waters Committee, a member of the Energy and Transportation Committees and a lead for the state’s natural resource, environment and energy budget. Prior to the Senate, he served as a San Juan County commissioner.

Ranker has family roots on Orcas. He spent part of his childhood on the island with his grandmother and has now made Orcas his permanent home with his wife and daughter.
