Park fee is unfair | Letter

I agree with Monique and Bill concerning the parking fees for the state parks. It is a haven for so many families to spend time for a picnic or a walk. With the economy as it is, our beloved government is going to make us pay?

I recall a little girl when we first moved here. She and her mother were having a walk around the lake. The little girl said to me, as they walked from the other direction, that they were having a walk because “they just had to get out of the house.” At the time I thought what a wonderful place for people who just have to get out of their house and to enjoy the sunshine and nature.

My husband and one of our sons helped with some of the clean-up  at the park and even it was a joy being in the sunshine and nature.

I do wonder about the pavilion in Eastsound that no one can use because of the huge insurance cost required for community pleasure.
