Clark Allen is the featured artist in the Orcas Island Library’s November art exhibit

Submitted by Andrea Cohen.

Clark Allen is an artist, photographer and writer who has lived on Orcas for less than two years. His work has appeared in galleries across the United States and abroad, and is in the collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

In this exhibit titled “Land Acknowledgement,” Allen presents a series of photographs interpreting Orcas Island through his eyes. In his words, “My aim is to create a portrait of this place beyond its beauteous sunsets and otherworldly fogs, with particular gesture toward its native heritage.”
