The work of Lopez Island artist Sara Waugh received the “Top of the Rock” award from judges at the San Juan County Fair this year.

The award is given to one Lopez-based fine artist on the strength and merit of the art. Waugh has lived on Lopez since 2008. She grew up in the New York countryside. Her paintings have been exhibited in shows across the United States.
