Youth Acting classes return to Orcas Center this fall! Acting classes provide children with more than just fun — although that’s certainly a big part of it! Acting teaches kids to adapt to changing situations, work within a group, gain self-confidence and practice public speaking. Classes will run Sept.13-Oct. 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are led by Jake Perrine and Jamey Moriarity. Cost is $70 and registration is through Parks and Rec. For more information visit: www.OrcasCenter.org/classes.
Drama 1: Improv (ages 7-11) 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Participants will explore the fundamental skills needed to perform: movement and bodily awareness, vocal control and expression, focus and listening.
Drama 2: Character (Ages 12-14) 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Participants will explore and refine their skills and knowledge related to crafting, rehearsing, and performing a cohesive piece. Skills will include script analysis, character development, blocking and rehearsal.
