The San Juan County Sheriff’s office responded to the following calls.
Nov. 3
• An Orcas deputy investigated a trespassing on the 600 Block of Blanchard Rd.
• A deputy conducted an investigation for littering on Orcas.
• A San Juan deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding and found that the vehicle registration was canceled. The driver was issued a citation for speeding – 58 mph in a 45 mph zone. The criminal traffic case was forwarded to the prosecutor.
• A San Juan deputy took a report of fraud. No suspect information exists at this time.
• Someone contacted the San Juan Sheriff’s Office hoping to speak with a deputy. The deputy called the person, who began making threats directed to the deputy. The deputy’s report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for a charging decision.
• Deputies were dispatched to a wanted person call in the Eastsound area. The individual posted bail. A report was taken.
Nov. 4
• An Orcas deputy took a report of a car key fob found near the post office. The owner was located and the fob returned.
• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of fraud. There are no suspects at this time.
• An Orcas deputy responded to a call of credit card fraud on the 300 block of Brandts Landing Rd. An investigation was conducted.
• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of a citizen dispute. No crime was observed and a report will be forwarded to child protective services.
• A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Orcas. The driver was issued citations for speeding, 48 mph in a 35 mph zone, and for not having a valid operator’s license with identification.
• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a citation for speeding, 56 mph in a 35 mph zone.
• An off-duty deputy on San Juan observed a driver known to have a suspended license operating a motor vehicle. A case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges of driving with a suspended license – third degree.
• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a citation for speeding, 54 mph in a 35 mph zone.
• An Orcas deputy stopped a driver and issued them a citation for speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Nov. 5
• A traveler with mental health issues spoke to a Lopez deputy who provided suggestions for care.
• A loose dog was turned over to a Lopez deputy, and the owner was located a few hours later.
• A San Juan deputy stopped a vehicle for traveling 45 mph in a posted 25 mph speed zone. The driver was issued a citation for speeding and a warning was given for improperly displaying tabs.
• A deputy on San Juan stopped an unlicensed driver on Guard Street. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license – second degree and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
• A Lopez deputy stopped a driver speeding on Fisherman Bay Road. The driver was issued a citation for speeding.
Nov. 6
• A Lopez resident reported a theft of miscellaneous items.
• An Orcas deputy responded to a citizen assist.
• A Lopez deputy was called regarding hunting out of season. The hunters were located and provided a proper state-issued extended permit.
• A deputy on San Juan responded to a report of harassment. Contact was made and a decision by the reporting party was made to trespass two people from the property. Trespass notices will attempt to be served.
• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a citation for speeding, 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.
• A Lopez deputy stopped a driver who was speeding on Fisherman Bay Road and issued them a citation for traveling 47 mph in a posted 25 mph zone.
Nov. 7
• A deputy on Lopez responded to a domestic call. Prior to placing the suspect under arrest for domestic violence Assault- fourth degree, the suspect began having medical complications and was airlifted to a hospital.
• San Juan deputies were dispatched to a report of an assault. Investigation revealed that the incident was a mental health issue and no crime appeared to have occurred.
• A deputy on Orcas conducted a traffic stop and issued the driver a citation for speeding, 54 mph in a 40 mph zone; for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license; and for operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance.
Nov. 8
• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of an agency assist.
• A deputy responded to a trespassing call in Eastsound. The business filled out a trespass warning letter and deputies served it to the individual.
• San Juan deputies responded to a report of a welfare check. The subject had multiple warrants for their arrest and was booked into the San Juan County jail.
• A San Juan deputy responded to a report of a missing juvenile. The juvenile was located by their parents shortly after.
• Deputies on Orcas responded with Orcas Fire and Rescue units to a report of an injury accident. The incident turned out to be a non-injury, slow-speed rollover involving a heavy-duty forklift.
Nov. 9
• On San Juan, a deputy issued a driver a warning for driving left of center on a curve.
Nov. 10
• A San Juan deputy stopped the driver of a vehicle who had a suspended driver’s license. The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license, third degree.
• Deputies on San Juan were dispatched to a report of an unconscious citizen. After assessing the scene, Narcan was administered and the citizen came to and was transported to the hospital by San Juan EMS.
• A deputy on San Juan was dispatched to a report of trespassing. The subject was contacted and issued a notice of trespass for a local business.
