San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responds to single vehicle, double fatality on Orcas Island

On Aug. 22, around 5:41 a.m., the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a single-vehicle accident, on Crow Valley Road near the intersection of Pleasure Horse Road. Multiple deputies responded to the scene and discovered that tragically both the driver and passenger had died.

An investigation is ongoing to confirm the identities of both victims and to notify family members of the deceased. The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office respectfully requests everyone to respect the privacy of the victims, and their families and friends.

“Please pray for all the people affected by this tragedy,” said San Juan County Sheriff Eric Peter. “Thank you to the deputies on scene and Orcas Island Fire and Rescue personnel for their quick response and efforts on this tragic call.”
