Rick Christmas is new fire commissioner

The Orcas Island Board of Fire Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Rick Christmas as fire commissioner. Commissioner Christmas was appointed Dec. 5, at the special meeting held by the board.

Christmas fills the vacant position left by former commissioner Barbara Bedell. His swearing in will take place at the beginning of the regularly scheduled commissioners meeting on Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m.
