Viking boys soccer take fourth at state

The Orcas Island Viking boys soccer team took fourth place at state after beating Mount Vernon Christian 2-0 on Nov. 10, then going on to lose to Crosspoint 1-0 on Nov. 17.
This is the highest ranking position the boys’ soccer team has earned in its history. The team returned home with its fourth-place plaque, escorted by sheriff deputies and Orcas Fire and Rescue personnel, to a town with cheering fans lining the streets.
