High school senior to teach sign language classes

Bethany Hansen, a senior at Orcas Island High school, will be teaching two free sign language classes at the Funhouse Commons as part of her senior project. The classes will be held Tuesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 25 after-school from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The classes are geared toward elementary school children, but all are welcome. Classes will focus on the basics of American sign language and hopefully instill a desire to learn more. Snacks will be provided.
