Velma Doty is Orcas Island Community Foundation’s 2016 ‘Flat Person’

The Orcas Island Community Foundation revealed the ‘Flat Person’ who will champion our 2016 GiveOrcas Campaign. After a week of online guessing, Chamber of Commerce Director Lance Evans revealed “Flat Velma,” a full-size cardboard cutout of Velma Doty.

Evans, or “Flat Lance,” was OICF’s flat person in 2015. Community members entered 179 guesses online; those who guessed correctly were entered into a drawing for $1000 to donate to their organization of choice in the OICF Holiday Catalog. Erin O’dell guessed correctly and declared that she will donate the $1000 to Orcas Community Resource Center.
