Young athletes compete at Tulip Tournament

Some of the youngest Orcas Island basketball players took on teams from Tacoma to Vancouver, B.C. during the Tulip Tournament March 24-25.
The sixth grade team took sixth place. Players were Katy Minnis, Olivia Brunner-Gaydos, Lexi Pence, Eve Hance, Joann Mietzner, Jessie Nichols, Anna Veldman and Monica Connell. Coaches were Tim Hance and Joe Gaydos.
The 7th and 8th grade team, pictured below, which came in ninth. Front row: coach Amber Paulsen, Lily Miller, Emma Minnis, Beth Meenach, Anneke Ivans. Second row: Kara Veldman, Halle Thompson, Adia Dolan, Claire Dudley, Madi Jane West, Maddy Hance and coach Craig Sanders.
