With Poker faces and prizes from Teezers Cookies on the line, players in Middle and high school gathered around poker tables for the Funhouse-Common’s Inagural Texas Hold ‘em Poker tournament, Saturday, Feb. 11.
The tournament was packed with action right down to the last hand. Alex Grantham took first prize with the highest chip count at the end of the tourney.
“I wasn’t expecting to win, I was up against some good competition,” said Grantham.
Second place went to Sean Haugen. “ I just went in their knowing when to hold em and when to fold ’em,” said Haugen.
Mackie Blackburn took third place.
“I like the new direction that teen night is headed, and hope we can have more poker tournaments,” Grantham said.
This was the first event under the new re-vamped Teen Night program. In the future the Funhouse-Common’s Teen Night will host: movie nights, Wii golf and Kinect boxing tournaments also live music performances.
